Job Description
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts
- Work with various type of corrosion resistant metal materials such as Carbon & Stainless Steel & Chrome (will also work with other metals)
- Weld small and large components
- Produce x ray quality welds
- Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Perform TIG weld repairs
- Arc Gauging & Torch cutting
- Must know how to properly FIT work (Level 3 Welder)
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a welder.
- Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
The welding test is (2) V-butt welds performed on 10” carbon steel pipe done in the 1G position, rolled on a welding positioner. Also, there is (4) fillet welds to be done on the same test performed in the 2F position. Half the test is welded using the SMAW process and the other half is welded using the FCAW process.
*One half of the weld test is using the SMAW (Stick welding) process: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), also known as manual metal arc welding, flux shielded arc welding or informally as stick welding
*The other half of the weld test is using the FCAW (Flux Core welding) process: Flux cored arc welding (FCAW), also know as dual shield welding, is a semi-automatic arc welding process that is similar to metal active gas (MAG) welding.
*There will also be some MIG welding involved in this Weld test
Pay Rate: Will be considered by level of experience
Work Schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off
Hours: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
