Job Description

Position Summary: The Warehouse Assistant assists with the in-and-out flows of the plant goods, including but not limited to raw, finished and indirect materials. These process flows require managing the SAP transactions and monitoring the inventory levels through physical inspections. As part of this process, the Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the SAP transactions as well as the physical deliveries and shipments in support of all plant activities. This position is also responsible for monitoring and maintaining the consumables at the plant site.
Strategic Focus:
  • Develop a better understanding of the company supply chain process flow
  • Learn more about SAP transactions
  • Ensure that all deliveries meet customer requested delivery date expectations
  • Maintain high quality in customer shipments ensuring all catalysts and accessories are delivered as promised in good condition
  • Take part in establishing better practices in inventory control and cycle counting
  • Participate in cross training operators in warehousing to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity of information flow
Main Responsibilities:
Material Control
  • Communicate regularly with operations and logistics departments to prioritize material movements to support plant operations
  • Support and assist with the raw material inventory in both the onsite and offsite warehouses to include cycle counts
  • Follow the raw material receiving process to include all offloading raw materials, receipts in SAP, making labels, and scanning materials to the appropriate location
  • Offload raw material tanker trucks, following appropriate PPE protocol for handling hazardous materials once a week
  • Communicate with off-site warehouse to schedule pickups and drop offs of raw materials and catalysts as appropriate
  • Assist with the loading process and create Bill of Materials for shipments to offset warehouses or customers
  • Back up all raw materials and Stores coordinator duties as required
  • Support customer shipments from offsite warehouses or at plant if required
Inventory Control
  • Update and send out the week list weekly for the inventory count. Continually improve the count to best represent what is physically on site and in SAP
  • Participate and support annual physical inventories for site
Functional Requirements:
Education & Experience
High School Diploma required, or equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of education
Safety and hazardous materials training
Three (3) years of inventory management and warehouse experience
Certifications
Must be forklift certified
Certified in the transportation of hazardous materials and dangerous goods
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to maintain relationships with colleagues and customers
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff and customers
Language Skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Mathematical Skills
Basic mathematics, ability to create excel charts for tracking purposes
Reasoning Ability
Strong interpersonal skills
Must be able to manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Self-motivated individual who can work independently and make decisions
Work well under pressure very detailed oriented capacity to multitask and troubleshoot at the highest level
Computer Skills
Proficiency with the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Understanding of an ERP system - SAP specific

Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
