Job Description
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and process incoming and outgoing items
- Using a Forklift load and off load product as per the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor’s direction. Maintain communications with the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor on a daily basis
- Ensure inventory is accurate and up to date
- Update the Inventory and Production as directed by the Shipping & Receiving Manager
- Process all orders and stock transfers received in a timely manner
- Comply with company safety, health and environmental requirements as per the Employee Handbook plus any all issued policies, procedures, and notices
- Assist in the development and improvement in the overall shipping & receiving operations
- Read and understand all standard operating procedures for all company shipping & receiving operations
- Ensue the shipping & receiving areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner
- Report any equipment problems or other issues to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor in a timely manner
- Perform customer service duties to include phone and electronic communication methods
- Perform inventory counts on an on-going basis and ensure accurate results are reported to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor on time
- Assist the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor in the returned product program
- Assist with the preparation of daily, weekly, and end-of-month reports
- Maintain operational efficiency for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Present a positive and professional image for company
- Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required
The Shipping & Receiving Operator is required to develop and maintain constructive relationships with multiple stakeholders.

High School Diploma or equivalent; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ideal candidate will have previous experience as a worker in a manufacturing warehouse
- Proficiently operate a forklift
- Strong oral and written communication skills, strong computer skills
- Must be able to read and follow directions of various documents: lot tracking sheets, receipts, packing lists, Bills of Lading, etc.
- Must have working computer skills
- Environment: Processing plant environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, electrical energy, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work in or with water and/or wastewater in confined spaces; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces, including slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 55lbs; standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and operating motorized equipment.
- Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate equipment.
- Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. The working conditions and physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Shipping typically does not stay after 4:00 pm)
(There can be some overtime to be worked occasionally)
