Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician for our Stafford, Texas operation.  This company is a master distributor of industry recognized valves. If you have the first to arrive and last to leave attitude, then we need to talk.

JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate for the Quality Control Technician role should exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication is crucial, both in writing and orally, along with active listening skills. The candidate should be self-motivated and independent while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Problem-solving abilities and a quick-learning disposition are key. A sense of responsibility and a proactive attitude towards troubleshooting challenges are essential traits.
The candidate should also demonstrate adaptability and versatility, particularly in cross-functional tasks such as collaborating with the Order Picking team. Overall, the successful candidate will contribute to the efficient functioning of the quality management system through a combination of skills, responsibility, and effective communication.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Verify that all QC/QA requirements are met, maintain electronic logs, complete electronic inspection reports, and electronic rejection reports, as necessary.
  • Learn the inventory and become an expert regarding it.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the inspection process to enhance order accuracy.
  • Inspect outbound orders and assist in inspection for inbound orders.
  • Cross-train among other Warehouse Jobs such as Picking and Receiving. 
  • Other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ Years of on-the-job experience in mechanical or Valve inspection.
  • A High School diploma or GED.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to accurately count components by hand or via weight counting.
  • Ability to read and understand purchase orders, material test reports (MTR), and material specifications.
  • Ability to gain a working knowledge of quality standards such as API and Trim Charts.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with people.
  • Strong problem-solving and analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects daily in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team on a broad variety of projects.
  • Willingness to work additional hours to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to follow directions and very detail oriented.
  • PPE required - Steel Toe boots.
