Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for managing air compliance program at the plant and support permitting as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Manage air program to assure compliance with environmental, safety regulations and Responsible Care
  • Ensure environmental air programs comply with state, federal and local regulations and provide technical expertise in these fields
  • Responsible for the timely preparation, submittal, and maintenance of required records, permits, and reports, in accordance with established guidelines by local, state, and federal agencies and corporate guidelines
  • Respond to inquiries such as Notice of violation, enforcement actions from agencies
  • Maintain air compliance systems (e.g., site emission monitoring and tracking system, Gensuite ODS Sentinel, visible emission monitoring etc.) compliance assurance plan, air permits (NSR, Title V)
  • Support conformance with PSM (Process Safety Management) and RC (Responsible Care) standards
  • Assist plant operations and Maintenance in process troubleshooting, project reviews, management of change, PHA, PSSR, incident investigation and other areas
  • Develop cost budget for air program and control cost QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrate familiarity with environmental, safety and regulatory disciplines
  • Demonstrate understanding of federal and state laws associated with environmental and safety
  • Experience with TCEQ air permitting, including NSR, PBR, and Title V.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with TCEQ air regulations (VOC, NOx, PM, EI, LDAR etc.)
  • Apply strong detailed analytical skills to effectively solve problems
  • Basic understanding of unit process operations, process flow diagram, P&ID
  • Demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal talents, and effective negotiation skills
  • Demonstrate effective computer skills (MS Office suite)
  • Able to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks, prioritize work, develop appropriate timelines, and work to deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to lead, motivate, and positively influence others
  • Demonstrate strong self-initiative and self-teaching
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to tolerate high stress levels
  • Plant process improvement experience is a plus
  • Professional engineering registration is a plus
EDUCATION:
  • B.S. Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • MS degree and/or Certified Safety Professional is a plus Experience
EXPERIENCE:
  • Industrial or Chemical Industry Environment Experience – minimum 4 years
  • Environmental/ Regulatory Experience – minimum 4 year
ADDITIONAL:  There is not a current bonus compensation structure offered.
