Job Description
Job Objectives: To perform the necessary tasks required to clean, repair, retube, rebuild, and construct heat exchangers of various types and other equipment associated with the petrochemical processing industry.
Essential Job Functions:
Proficient in GTAW (TIG) for both Carbon Steel and 300 series Stainless Steel is a MUST
Experience with FCAW (FluxCore) and/or SAW (Submerged Arc) is a MAJOR plus
Welders must pass a 6G pipe test before being considered for employment

Equipment/ Clothing Used to Perform Job:
Protective equipment
Side shielded safety glasses and steel toe boots at all times; gloves, hearing protection, goggles, chemical cleaning suit, acid suit, respiratory protection: including N95, full or partial face mask respirator, and supplied air hood as required. Assorted long and short handled tools. Various power tools including grinders and impact gun. Weld machine cart, Power industrial trucks, and mechanical lift equipment including overhead crane and dolly.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry 50+ lbs., kneeling, bending, twisting, overhead reaching, climbing, gripping with the hands, pushing, and pulling, walk and stand for long periods of time, repetitive motion.
Shifts:
Shifts will rotate
Days: Monday through Sunday
Hours: Shop Hours are as follows: (the shop operates 24/7 – 365 days/year)
4:00am – 7:00am Graves Days
7:00am-3:30pm Days
3:30pm12:00am Nights
12:00am-4:00am Graves Nights
**Hours are subject to swing schedule and are not a set schedule (days or nights) **
This applies for all shop personnel.
Candidates MUST be available for any of the shift hours

Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to comprehend instructions from supervisors and/or co-workers.
- Must pass a pre-employment examination before welding.
- Apply knowledge of learned welding techniques Communicates verbally and effectively in English with supervisors and co-workers for resolution of any questions regarding safety, job conduct, and product quality control.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints as well as the translation of that information into the finished product.
- Help in the following, as skills and training allow:
- Lay out, position, align, and fit components together in various body positions and in various places.
- Cut arc windows in shells as needed to remove internal tubes.
- Cut shell as necessary to retube bundles.
- Weld shell back together.
- Repair exchanger parts, tube sheets (channel heads and covers) Installs new nozzles in heads or builds new bundles on order.
- Make chrome welds of x-ray quality as required in alloy 800 Hastelloy or stainless steel as required.
- Perform acetylene cutting.
- Perform grinding inside shell and or tubes as needed.
- Operate vehicles, industrial cleaning equipment or power tools when authorized and qualified to do so in accordance with established company rules and work orders.
- Clean up work areas and equipment after work is completed.
- Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company.
- Must be able to work, when necessary, the night shift, plus reasonable overtime on the graveyard shift and/or weekends.
- Must make satisfactory performance in essential functions simulation process.
