Job Description
Summary: The Blaster reports directly to the shift foreman or leadman with the primary responsibility of sand or shot blasting heads per job card; preparing heads for next sequence. Following company policy and procedure.
Primary Responsibilities
Days:Â Monday through Friday (will work every other Saturday)
Hours: 1st shift hours - 5:00 am to 3:30 pmÂ
             2nd Shift hours – 3:30 pm to 2:00 am/Shift Diff $1.50 hr./total pay $22.97 hr.
            3rd shift hours – 2:00 am to 12:30 pm/Shift Diff. $2.50 hr./total pay $23.97 hr.
(working 10 – 20 hrs. overtime or more weekly – overtime accumulates after 8 hrs. a day)

Primary Responsibilities
- Comply with all company Health, Safety and environmental policy and procedures.
- Operate sandblast, rotary and pass-through shot blasts, for cleaning and preparing parts
- Read, interrupt and understand job cards
- Maintain and inspect equipment
- Comply with company Housekeeping policies and standards to maintain a clean and orderly workstation. Â
- Must meet all company quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Willingness to perform task in a fully competent manner.
- Set controls and regulate the amount of abrasive material flowing through blast gun
- Make adjustments and preventative maintenance repairs to blast equipment
- The blaster knows and understands surface designations for surface finishes
- Is certified and demonstrate the ability to safely operate a lift truck
- Is certified and demonstrate the ability to safely operate an Overhead Crane.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools such as: grinder, hammer, wrench and pry bar.
- Ability to read print and drawings
- Understand OD / ID
- Understand metric measurements, standard measurements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both oral and written.Â
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust.
- Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
- Frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Lifting devices are available and recommended.
- Able to exceed 40 hours per week.
- Ability to wear proper PPE as required.
